This months theme is :-
For My Project I decided to make a keepsake for My Son's birth, it is long overdue!!!!! :-)
I had bought a blank box to decorate and put little keepsakes in, but never got around to making it!!
I ended up using the base of the box before Christmas to make a Miniature Toy Cupboard for My little man :-)
The lid of the box had cut out baby feet so I kept it with the plan to some day make a picture/hanging.
And now the that Day has come!! :-) :-)
This is the base for My project it measures almost 10"x10" and is 1" deep.
I used DCWV paper to cover the top and cut out the feet.
I cut some blue card to put behind the feet.
First I stuck the paper on the front with matt multi medium, and then sanded all around the feet cutouts and the sides this neatens all the edges. I inked all around the sanded areas with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Before I stuck the blue card behind the feet I wrote a little verse and stamped a little baby vest on the right foot.
I punched an oval shape from the blue card and stamped a quote and inked around the edges then stuck this on the top left corner.
I punched another oval from the same blue card and wrote the date, time and weight and inked around the edges and then stuck this down on the bottom right.
I punched out a small photo of Evan and put a die cut oval behind it in the same blue to make it stand out more on the patterned paper. I inked around these also and stuck them down in the middle of the two feet.
I used a brown spotted washi tape all around the edge of the piece and then put another washi tape with sentiments on top of this going right around the piece.
I die cut letters using the Tim Holtz Vintage Market Die.
I put EVAN on the left foot.
Here is the finished project, I have used a Tim Holtz Easel Stand die to cut a stand for the back then it can stand like a picture, although I might make a box base and go back to the original idea of a keepsake box :-)
